High School English

Software Evaluation

While many teachers and parents believe they are few ways to incorporate the computer asides from word processing in the typical high school English classroom, further research of contemporary software programs designed for teaching and reinforcing English lessons are becoming very common. Many programs that involve the expansion of vocabulary, the practicing of the usages of grammar, and even traditional games such as Scrabble are all being incorporated into the classroom to get students’ noses out of the text and onto the screen. The trend to move away from reading, lecturing, and note-taking in the typical English classroom is showing the importance of spreading literacy. Students need more than text. Students need to interact with their learning materials and expand their technology skills to be successful in the college and workforce. The following table displays the top ten software programs for the high school English classroom available today.
